While this is a nice controller, I have to say I prefer the PS3 version better. I find the speaker and touchpad wholly unnecessary additions that make the Share and Options buttons difficult to use (I have larger hands and fingers) and drain battery life. I'm also not sold on the shape of the joysticks; they just don't feel right with my fingertips (that may change with continued use, but none of the 4 people in the household are fond of them). So on to the battery life of the controller - it's terrible. We've had controllers die in the middle of gaming (and Rock Band Sessions) and that is a major pain and very frustrating. We've turned off the vibration option (whcih we love on our PS3), set the controllers to shut down after 10 minutes, and changed every setting we can to lowest possible power consumption level. We still get lousy battery life out of all 3 PS4 controllers we own. What do I like about this controller? The PS4 controller is a bit more comfortable in the hand than it's predecessors, and the button layout remains pretty much unchanged since the PS1 - which is great. Beyond that, I find the controller a needless step forward in (very cool) technology, but 2 steps back in usability - because of that very cool tech.I can't love this controller. I really want to like it more than I do, so I'm sorely tempted to say it's just 'okay' and give it 3 stars. However, to be fair, beyond the battery life issue, the other issues I have are personal quibbles and others may not see them as issues. So, I'm giving the controller the benefit of the doubt and giving it 4 stars.
